When I received the email that said I would be receiving a dry shampoo that actually cleans your hair, I was extremely sceptical but utterly excited. I love hearing about new formulations and ideas that brands come up with, and this seems like something we all didn’t know we needed (but we do).
Living Proof have come out with a dry shampoo that ”actually cleans hair, eliminates oil, sweat and odour”. Those are some pretty impressive claims, so although I wash my hair every day (yes, I know it’s not good for it, hair-care-police), I decided it was time to put it to the test.
As mentioned, I cannot go a day without washing my hair. I’ve tried but I cannot go into the shower and not wash it, it just doesn’t feel right. Therefore, I decided to test out this magical product during the heatwave that we suffered in.
In the morning, after already breaking into a sweat from just rolling out of the bed because the temperatures were roasting everyone in the UK alive, I sprayed this dry shampoo at the roots of my hair and hoped it would keep it semi-dry and actually keep it feeling and looking clean throughout the day. I brushed my hair through to make sure it didn’t leave any residue and that was it!
I would like to point out that if you did not experience the heatwave that it made you sweat in places you didn’t know would sweat, even the roots of your hair. I just went about my day as I would every day and by the evening I realised that something crazy had happened…
My hair felt… normal. It felt clean, not oily and it smelt fresh. Other dry shampoos I have used in the past have had such overpowering scents and they’ve made my hair so chalky that I have just never bought them again. This one, however, has the most subtle fresh smell and it actually leaves your hair feeling like it’s your hair, not some dry cheap chalky wig from eBay.
So would I recommend this? Yes, 100%. If you were using this to skip a hair-wash day, I’d recommend putting it in your hair before you went to bed and then waking up, brushing it through and being amazed at how clean your hair looks.
QUESTION! How often do you wash your hair? I’m genuinely so intrigued as I feel like everyone has their own little routines.
Be kind, be humble.
